Rod Emmerson draws his inspiration from the world that passes around him.
Passionate since his early youth about painting, his work has ranged from the abstract wonders of the rainforest floor and its wildlife, to capturing people as they go about their daily lives.
His work has developed over the years to where he now paints primarily by commission. |
For the past several years, he has produced numerous works for a japanese patron,
which now form part of various private collections in and around Tokyo. |
He is also well-known as one of Australia's leading political cartoonists,
published daily throughout the APN News & Media group of newspapers and beyond to papers around Australia, NZ and internationally through a syndicate in New York.
He was recently awarded by the National Museum of Australia for producing the best political cartoon of 1999 at their exhibition in Canberra.
His nineth accolade in 12 years of political and social satire. |
