| The theme of John Bayton's artwork is spiritual, which
is hardly surprising given his 40 years serving the Anglican community throughout Australia and in the Middle East.
It was this time in the Middle East, in particular his two years in the holy city of Jerusalem that has inspired much of his art. |
| Historically, Jerusalem was the spiritual centre for the great world religions including Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Today, Jerusalem remains a powerful and complex centre for these religions and this diversity is reflected in John Bayton's work in the many different icons, images, shapes,
colours, backgrounds that make up his art. Each piece is uniquely different and reflects a totally new perspective of Jerusalem City. |
